Lucy Jones
Lucy Jones is a British citizen living in the UK. She has more than 15 years consultancy experience of which 13 years is international experience. Lucy was a teacher for 19 years and has experience in primary, secondary and tertiary education. Between 1991 and 1997, Lucy worked as a 5-14 Assessment Officer in the Scottish Examination Board.
During her time in the Scottish Examination Board, Lucy undertook consultancies in Northern Ireland to develop Key Stage Language Testing and visited Egypt and Jordan to develop diagnostic testing and improved school systems. In Russia, she developed criterion-based language testing.
In 1997 Lucy became a freelance international consultant. She has been involved in developing national and formative assessment systems, capacity building, the development of educational materials, curriculum design, monitoring and evaluation, the development of a certificate programme, teacher training and school management as well as the cross-cutting themes of equity and gender.
Lucy has worked for a wide range of organisations including DFID, WB, EU and ADB, in more than 12 countries in the regions of South/South East Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South America.
The main focus of her work has been in Pakistan where she has worked for over 10 years, assisting in the development of a national assessment system, improving formative and summative assessment in the Northern Areas of Pakistan and working to develop quality education in Sindh province.
