Micheal Thair
Dr. Micheal Thair, holds Australian and United Kingdom citizenship and is currently a resident of Viet Nam. He has more than 20 years experience of international experience in the education sector including Technical & Vocational, Tertiary, Secondary, and Basic Education. This expertise includes team leadership and project management, Project Cycle (Design, Feasibility, Appraisal, Implementation and Evaluation); human resource development; capacity building; decentralisation; educational materials development and procurement; monitoring and evaluation; teacher training; teaching and learning methodologies; education service delivery and management; curriculum design; train-the-trainer; and the cross-cutting issues of equity, gender, rights, and poverty. Dr. Thair has worked for a wide range of organisations including the ADB, WB, EU, and DFID in more than 10 countries spanning the regions of Europe, South/South East Asia, Middle East, and the Pacific.
His academic and research focus has been in the area of teacher professional development. Since 1978 Dr. Thair has worked on about thirty international projects, with a strong emphasis in the area of teacher professional development. These activities have included in-service and pre-service teacher training, system wide plans for institutional and human resource capacity building, teacher training curriculum development, training of trainers and teacher accreditation and reward systems.
