Louise Wetheridge
Louise Wetheridge is Education Projects Manager at Education for Change. Since July 2008 she has been involved with the Thematic Evaluation on Primary Education for PLAN International. Her responsibilities include research and analysis; project management and communication, including administration of EU framework contracts; business processes including Website and project database management and development; and business development including identification of opportunities and preparation of responses.
Louise has worked as an English Language Teacher in Europe (Austria, Italy, and the U.K) and in East Africa (Uganda and Kenya). As a Teacher, she prepared students for National examinations, taught Business English and facilitated curriculum development. Louise has more recently worked as a Training and Learning Adviser with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) providing ongoing training and learning support to Education volunteers and programme staff internationally. She was responsible for designing and delivering learning resources, coordinating projects, moderating Gender and Education and development message boards, and managing a pool of freelance trainers.
Louise has recently completed a Masters degree at the Institute of Education, University of London, in Education, Gender and International Development, for which she undertook qualitative research on the political will to achieve gender equality in education, focussing on efforts to tackle violence against girls in schools, in Ghana.
