Transparency International - TISDA and AEW programmes

Africa Education Watch programme (AEW)

Education for Change Ltd (EfC) provides education governance and school management expertise to the Africa Education Watch Programme of Transparency International.

The Africa Education Watch Programme (2007 – 2010) aims to improve transparency and accountability in the use of primary education resources in seven African countries. The programme consists of three components: national assessments (consisting of a financial desk-study, user and provider surveys, as well as regional comparison); national coalitions, forming alliances and partnerships for national educational campaigns; and a strong advocacy campaign based on policy recommendations that emerge from assessment reports.

Transparency and Integrity in Service Delivery in Africa (TISDA)

Project background

Education for Change Ltd (EfC) provides education governance and education research methodologgy expertise to the TISDA programme of Transparency International.

Launched in July 2008, TISDA is a Transparency International three-year regional programme in Africa focusing on exploring the link between corruption and poverty in the context of decentralisation. The project seeks to empower civil society in eight African countries - Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda and Zambia – to advocate for improved transparency and accountability in the provision of basic services in the health, water and education sectors.
